Shorncliffe Pier Compass
The Shorncliffe Pier and its surrounding picnic areas, walks and art installations are a must see whilst visiting the South East Queensland coastline. This image captures the morning sun bathing the bay with some welcome winter morning light rays.
As for the Pier it was closed to the public in early 2012 due to marine borers found in the structure. Councils commissioned an engineers’ report that confirmed that the pier needs to come down or be dramatically restored. The redesigned pier is currently expected to be re-opened in mid 2015.
